Ovid and the Art of Love

Directed by Esmé von Hoffman

Ovid and the Art of Love is a dramedy about a young man who finds his life in peril when he writes a guide to love (and seduction).

It is based on the real life poet, Ovid, from Ancient Rome whose work went on to inspire generations to come including William Shakespeare and Bob Dylan. Told through the eyes of a Detroit teenager and set amidst the ruins of Detroit, America’s lost empire, Ovid tells a timeless tale of a young man trying to find himself who stumbles into romance, adventure, and ultimately danger.

The leading cast includes Corbin Bleu (High School Musical trilogy) and John Savage (The Deer Hunter) and Joseph McKenna (Shutter Island and 12 Monkeys). The team is led by executive producer Greg Johnson (The Squid and the Whale) whose films have been nominated for Golden Globes and Academy Awards.
